The Jennings Estate

1918 - 1940's

With the demise of Lake Toxaway and to settle damage claims from the death and destruction form the dam break of 1916, all the property of the Toxaway Company was either sold or acquired by original Toxaway Company executives.

E.H. Jennings acquired the land that is today Lonesome Valley and most of Sapphire Valley Resort.  The painting above was found in Lonesome Valley some years ago is the old Fairfeld Inn and is titled The Jennings Estate.

Today

The Jennings family still owns Lonesome Valley which today is an exclusive real estate development, the Canyon Spa, and Canyon Kitchen - a fine dining experience
